Stump Grinding vs. Stump Removal
What is stump grinding?
A stump grinder is a piece of equipment that chews away at the stump wood that’s left after a tree has been cut down. Stump grinders use a powerful, rotating blade that rips into the wood as it turns. The blade’s teeth cut the stump wood into small pieces. The operator guides the blade over the entire stump as the blade reduces the wood to chips, and takes the stump below ground level. What is stump removal?
Stumps may need to be removed completely depending on what the area might be repurposed for. Stump grinding reduces the stump below grade level whereas stump removal pulls the entire stump from the ground. This can be more intrusive to the landscape but necessary in some instances. This is not a service that we currently offer.

What we do
Brue's Stump Grinding specializes in stump grinding. That's it...that's what we do. We grind tree stumps below ground level. After grinding there will be wood chips. These will be backfilled into the hole and any remaining chips will be spread out over the immediate area.
Safety
Our company will notify 811 Sunshine to locate underground utilities (water, sewer, power, fiber and gas lines) at the worksite on your property. They can require up to 48 business hours. Additionally, it is the clients responsibility to provide knowledge of any nearby underground irrigation, wiring, gas lines to outdoor equipment, etc. that would not be located by 811 Sunshine. 811 Sunshine will only locate the major utilities from the main line to the home. We work cautiously but need to know if there is something underground. Safety barriers will be used to protect any nearby property from flying debris while work is in progress. Brue's Stump Grinding, LLC is fully insured.
**The working area must be well clear of people and pets at all times while work is in progress.
